Sentinella was born in Gozo’s citadel as a choreographed improvisation intended to create a sultry and serene soundscape which depicts a typical Mediterranean sun-baked summer’s afternoon. In a collage of synths and traditional instruments like the tanbur, fifra and bijambo, the tune intermingles with the traditional children’s game song of “Onġi Onġi Onġella”, closing the album with an atmospheric island saudade.
